John A. Arroyo Jr., D.D.S.

Born and raised in Washington, DC, Dr. John Arroyo graduated from University of Dayton in 1974 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. He then attended Howard University School of Dentistry earning a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1980. Dr. Arroyo resides in Sandy Spring, MD with his wife of over 38 years and two border terriers. He is very pleased to have his three children, Jeremi, Rachel and Nicole working with him in his practice.

Jeremi J. Arroyo, D.D.S.

Dr. Jeremi Arroyo has been practicing dentistry in Washington, D.C. since 2005. He graduated from College of Charleston with a Bachelors of Science in Biology in 2000. Dr. Jeremi then attended University of Maryland Dental School in Baltimore where he met his wife Bonnie, an oral maxillofacial surgeon. Jeremi continued his studies by completing a residency in general dentistry at the Baltimore VA Medical Center. While working at the Medical Center he focused his time on implant and restorative dentistry. Dr. Jeremi continues to study dentistry through numerous continuing education opportunities around the country. He offers each of our patients complete dental care including cosmetic, restorative, and implant dentistry as well as surgical services.

Our Team

Our Office Manager
Amy Kunkel has been our office manager since 2007. She handles all of our patients billing and scheduling needs as well as keeping our office running smoothly on a daily basis.

Accounts Manager
Whitney Caldwell has worked in the dental field since 2007. She joined our team in June of 2009. Whitney deals directly with insurance companies to ensure you get the most from your benefit plan.

Our Hygienists

Rachel Arroyo Kunkel
Rachel Arroyo Kunkel has worked as a Registered Dental Hygienist since 2001. She joined our team in 2002. Rachel is a member of The American Dental Hygiene Association as well as Maryland's Western Shore Dental Hygiene Association. Rachel helps to ensure that each and every patient in our practice receives the highest quality of care.

Nicole Arroyo
Nicole Arroyo has worked in the dental field since 2003. She returned to school and became a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2007. Nicole will offer our patients all the information and care needed to maintain a healthy smile.

Our Assistants

Rela Wheeler
Rela Wheeler moved from the Philippines to the United States in 1993 after practicing Public Health Dentistry there for 16 years. Rela has worked as Dr. John Arroyo's Certified Dental Assistant since 1998.

Hideki Yawata
Hideki Yawata has worked as a dental assistant since 2006, following in the footsteps of his sister Beatriz. He is currently enrolled at NOVA working to become a Registered Dental Hygienist.
